Shelco’s microfiltration cartridges and housings offer the perfect choice for demanding applications that require critical process streams. The Shelco Series Sanitary Housings feature high polish RA finishes and removable tube sheets for ease of cleaning and sanitization, which make them an important component in the sterile processing of critical water and the removal of waterborne pathogens. Microfiltration works well before and after UV systems in a multi-barrier system. UV disinfection works better with clearer water, typically in a 5 micron configuration. Another submicron filter after the UV system takes out Legionella and other dead pathogens pieces that were damaged and broke apart in the UV disinfection process.
