What is a Water Management Program?

The term “Water Management Program” refers to the ongoing, verified and documented reduction of Legionella bacteria in a facility’s water system.

The term “Water Management Program” is sometimes used interchangeably with “Water Management Plan.” However, “Water Management Plan” is sometimes used to refer to water conservation efforts. Moreover, even in the context of Legionella risk reduction, a “Water Management Program” goes beyond planning to the continual implementation, verification and validation, and the documentation of those efforts.
