Chloramine Levels for Effective Legionella Control Chloramines are used as a disinfectant for Legionella control. See the below chart for concentration levels and effectiveness relative to Legionella control. For effective Legionella control, a monochloramine level of 2.25 ppm is suggested at the fixtures. At this level, Legionella is killed in the water and reduction in biofilm occurs. If less than 1.5 ppm monochloramine is tested at the taps, Legionella will likely not be well controlled.
