**All valves not listed as open are closed.
B Tank is Primary Softener, while A Tank is a Polisher:

Primary softener tank regenerates based on batch of water through softener or on a timed basis.  Either tank A or B can be the primary or secondary softener.
Both softeners are online at all times except during a regeneration.
