How Legionella Control System’s Expertise in Engineering & Industrial Water Treatment Systems Supports Pathogen Control Solutions

We Choose Our Solutions From a Full Spectrum of Disinfection Solutions.

LCS doesn’t rely on “one-size-fits-all” treatment options. Our engineering background allows us to design, evaluate, and implement a variety of disinfection technologies, including:

  • Mixed oxidant systems (MIOX)
  • Chlorine and chloramine injection
  • Chlorine dioxide systems
  • Copper–silver ionization (CSI) systems
  • Advanced Oxidation Process (AOP) systems
  • Ultraviolet (UV) systems

We Can Implement Different Combinations of Disinfection Strategies Because of Our Engineering Expertise.

We can pick or even combine the most effective disinfection strategies for a specific facility and risk profile because of our engineering expertise. This expertise includes an understanding of water chemistry, flow dynamics, and system design.

Deep understanding of custom filtration (Point-of-Entry / Point-of-Use).

LCS offers point-of-entry (POE) filtration systems that are specifically designed for pathogen control, not just scale or turbidity. For example:

  • We have filtration housings rated for very high flow (up to hundreds of GPM)
  • We offer microfiltration, ultrafiltration, and nanofiltration options for POE, which can physically remove bacteria, viruses, cysts, and other opportunistic pathogens.
  • Our systems can include multi-stage / multi-barrier designs, combining pre-filtration, microbial filters, and UV disinfection to give layered protection.

We Know How To Integrate Filtration Systems Into a Range of Facilities.

Our engineering experience enables us to size and configure custom filtration systems correctly for the hydraulics and water quality of each facility.

Water Softening Specifically Designed for Pathogen Risk Reduction.

  • LCS has a patented water softener system, the Legionella Dominator™, which is designed specifically to reduce Legionella risk.
  • Unlike traditional softeners, which typically alternate tanks and create stagnation, our design ensures continuous operation of both tanks, reducing stagnation and keeping temperatures more stable.
  • Because hard water scaling can create biofilm, reducing scale helps limit places where bacteria can hide and grow. Our softener minimizes scale while also controlling water age and disinfection effectiveness.

Water Management & Risk Assessment.

  • We provide Legionella risk assessments, as well as create Water Management Plans (WMPs).
  • Our engineering team can analyze system hydraulics, temperature profiles, stagnation zones, and water chemistry — all of which are critically important for managing risk factors. By understanding how water flows within a building, we can recommend structural or operational changes to reduce risk.
  • We are certified to the ASSE/IAPMO/ANSI 12080 standard for Legionella water safety and management. This standard reflects professional competence in both risk assessment and technical implementation.

We Have the Ability To Integrate Advanced Water Treatment Systems.

  • We are able to integrate ultrapure water systems and ST108-standard purification when needed.
  • Our engineering experience allows them to design systems that optimize water quality while maintaining disinfection residuals, mitigating stagnation, and meeting regulatory or facility-specific requirements.

Why This Matters for Pathogen Control

Targeted Control:
Because we can mix and match disinfection technologies, we can target not just Legionella but multiple pathogens based on risk.
Sustainable Risk Reduction:
Rather than just doing a “shock treatment,” our purification and filtration strategies help maintain long-term control.
System Optimization:
Our engineering efforts help ensure that water systems are designed or retrofitted in ways that minimize risk at the source. An example is eliminating dead legs and improving water flow instead of just increasing disinfectant usage.
Regulatory & Operational Confidence:
Our technical competence gives facility operators confidence that our water safety programs are backed by engineering analysis and compliant with standards.

Legionella Control Systems’ water purification and engineering experience gives us a strong, technically rigorous foundation for pathogen control. We build, integrate, and optimize pathogen control systems in a way that’s informed by both water chemistry and microbial risk, which makes our solutions more effective, robust, and long-term.
